Frequently Asked Questions.

WHAT IS YOUR WARANTY POLICY?

DFS stands behind all of our products we sell to be free of all manufacturing defects that might lead to failure or severely decreased performance. Email us at customerservice@descofs.com if you believe yourself to be experiencing such an issue, and we will take care of you.

To avoid catastrophic failure with your items, follow the specific guidelines available in your product manual.

How do I buy a silencer or other NFA item from DESCO?

Purchasing a suppressor or other NFA item is a straightforward process, but it does involve federal paperwork and approval. When you place an order with DESCO Firearm Solutions, the item will be transferred to your chosen FFL/SOT dealer. Your dealer will then help you complete the required ATF Form 4 paperwork and submit it for approval. Once the ATF approves your transfer, you will be able to pick up your suppressor directly from your dealer.

If you are located in Wisconsin and working with DESCO directly, our team can help guide you through the process to make it as simple as possible.

Do I need a special license to buy a suppressor?

No special license is required for most individuals to purchase a suppressor. As long as suppressors are legal in your state, you simply need to complete the ATF approval process, which includes submitting fingerprints, a background check, and the required tax stamp application. Your local FFL/SOT dealer will assist you with these steps.

Are your products legal in my state?

Suppressor laws vary by state and local jurisdiction. While suppressors are legal in many states, it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure they comply with all local, state, and federal laws before purchasing. Your local FFL/SOT dealer can help confirm legality in your area and assist with the transfer process.

Do you offer custom parts or prototyping?

Yes. DESCO Firearm Solutions offers custom machining, prototyping, and small-batch manufacturing services. Our team works with customers who need specialized components or unique solutions that require precision manufacturing. If you have a project in mind, please contact us with details and we can discuss feasibility, design considerations, and timelines.

Do you sell to law enforcement or government agencies?

Yes. DESCO Firearm Solutions works with law enforcement agencies, government entities, and qualified departments. If you are purchasing on behalf of an agency, please contact us directly so we can assist with agency orders, documentation, and procurement requirements.

What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of NFA-regulated items, suppressors and other NFA products are generally non-returnable once the transfer process has begun. If you experience an issue with your product, please contact us, and we will work with you to resolve the situation, including inspection, repair, or replacement if necessary. For non-NFA items or accessories, returns may be accepted within a limited time period if the item is unused and in its original condition.

What is the NFA?

The National Firearms Act (NFA) is a federal law passed in 1934 that regulates certain types of firearms and accessories, including suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and machine guns. Items covered under the NFA require additional paperwork, a background check, and approval from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), along with the payment of a federal tax stamp, before the item can be transferred to an individual.
